Delilah is Borikua Taino, born in the diaspora in the Bronx, NY. She has spent over a decade working within the communities she’s been part of — including foster youth, LGBTQ+, and BI-POC communities — as an advocate, organizer, and mentor. Her journey began at 15 when she entered the foster care system, an experience that opened her eyes to the systemic gaps impacting those around her. She’s since worked with organizations like the Boys and Girls Club and Good Shepherd Services, building a strong foundation in education, development, and community work. Delilah has been with the Urban Indigenous Collective for nearly two years as the Office, Events and Cultural Program Manager. She also serves as the Individual and Corporate Giving Manager for the Borikua Taino Foundation to continue traditional education and land preservation for the Borikua Taino Community. She is committed to uplifting Urban Natives in Lenapehoking and across the diaspora through relationship-building, advocacy, and resource-sharing.
