
Lourdes A. Rivera is the President of Pregnancy Justice, a leading U.S. organization dedicated to ensuring that no one loses their rights because of pregnancy.
With over 30 years of experience in law, advocacy, health policy, and philanthropy, she brings to the role deep expertise in reproductive justice, human rights, and racial equity.
Prior to joining Pregnancy Justice in 2023, Rivera served as Senior Vice President of U.S. Programs at Center for Reproductive Rights, where she oversaw the organization’s legal and policy work, including Supreme Court, federal and state court cases, and national legislative strategies.
Earlier in her career she held leadership roles at the Ford Foundation (designing grantmaking strategy in sexual and reproductive health and rights), the National Health Law Program (managing low-income health care access work), and as a Georgetown Women’s Law and Public Policy Fellow at the National Women’s Law Center.
Rivera holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.A. in Latin American Studies from Yale University.
She is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and has held leadership roles with the American Bar Association’s Coalition on Racial and Ethnic Justice and its Health Rights and Bioethics Committee.
